How to Prospect Successfully

One of the biggest mistakes people make when they join the business is thinking "Who can I sell this stuff to?" This question is completely off-base. It's the exact opposite of what a successful distributor should be thinking.
Here's the reality.
Every Monday morning at 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00 am, alarm clocks all around the world are going off. People are groggily hitting the snooze button, desperate for another five minutes of sleep. They get up at the last possible second, rush through their shower, and then either microwave breakfast, skip it or buy it in a drive-through window on the way to work.
We know that 80% of people are going to a job they don't like (or actually hate) and 99.9% of them think they should be making more money. Most of them will slog through the day in a comatose state and grab dinner at another drive-thru window on the way home. Then, they will plop onto a sofa or recliner and spend the night rubbing the hair off the back of their heads, drinking cans of rancid, fermented hops and watching mindless sitcoms until they're ready for bed.
Tuesday morning, the process starts all over ...
Wednesday morning … Thursday morning ... 'til Friday morning ... thank God it's Friday!
You know what Friday means - it's payday. So, at five o'clock, when their boss whistles them over to fetch their meager pittance, they can feel - if for only a few brief moments - like the check is theirs.
Now, of course, that check is already spent, because they have a stack of credit card bills waiting for it. But for those few glorious moments - it feels like it's theirs. This calls for a celebration. This means tonight they can eat out! So, at least here in America, that means off to Pizza Hut for a stuffed crust, meat-lovers, double-cheese, double-meat pan pizza, which, of course, they'll wash down with a Diet Pepsi, because they need to "watch their weight."
From dinner, it's off to the neighborhood video store, where they'll stack up 6 to 8 videos - just enough to keep them from thinking about their life of quiet desperation all weekend. Until Monday morning, when the alarm clock goes off and they start the process all over again ...
Do you understand something? You don't need these people. They desperately need and want what you have to offer. So stop thinking "Who can I get to do this?" Start thinking "Who would I like to offer this opportunity to?"
Which brings me to another point. You may think your product is vitamins or skin care or discount long distance service, but it is none of those things. What you have to sell is freedom.
Never lose sight of that.
You're offering people the opportunity to become their own boss and control their own destiny. For most of them, it will be the first opportunity they've ever had with unlimited income potential. It's also the first time they've had a chance to become successful by empowering others. Obviously, everyone would be interested in this, right?
No. Actually, many are not.
Why?
Because it means getting out of their comfort zone. Because it takes a belief in one's self that they don't possess. Some of them want success, but not if they have to do any work to get it. They're playing the odds, figuring a rich relative is going to die, or that the next time the phone rings, it will be the Publisher's Clearing House Prize Patrol calling for their cross street. And many more think they want success - but are actually taking actions to prevent it because they suffer from "lack" consciousness, and don't even know it. So, while the universe of people who need what you have is vast - the group who will seize the opportunity you're offering is much smaller. You have to screen out the people who have a dream and are willing to do something about it (the prospects) from those who are waiting to hit the lottery (the suspects).
Of course, the first question to arise is where do you find these people?
The natural place to begin is with friends, neighbors and relatives. It makes the most sense. You won't have to make cold calls or talk to strangers. People who know you will give you the benefit of the doubt and usually at least look at your Pre-Approach Packet or meet you for a one-on-one over coffee.
A lot of people are reluctant to talk to the people they know, fearing that they'll become the victim of the can't-be-a-prophet-in-your-own-hometown syndrome. There is some truth to this. If you've been working alongside Joe for the past ten years and now come along with this opportunity to get wealthy - Joe is probably going to be a little skeptical. That's okay. This is where edification comes in.
Let me explain.
Edification works on the principle that for most people, the expert is the guy from out of town with a briefcase. Many people place much more credibility in strangers than they do in their own daughters, husbands, fathers, etc.
After all, your family and close friends know every mistake you've ever made, from the lemonade stand you had when you were six that lost money to the time you tried to make money franchising ant farms. They haven't been able to achieve a happy, fulfilling life (and they figure they're a whole lot smarter than you), so they can't understand how you would know.
So, here's how it happens a lot of times. You join a network marketing company and you're excited about the possibilities. You start to think about who you want to help and naturally your thoughts turn to your parents. You call them up, go over to the house and make your presentation. It's a beauty. You sit back and relax - waiting for the grateful appreciation your parents are about to express - thankful that you've found a way to repay them for all they've done for you over the years.
Mother leans forward, about to speak, "So, Mister Big Shot, you're going to make all this money. Don't you remember when you had the paper route and you couldn't wake up in time? Your father had to deliver all the newspapers ..."
You're devastated. Here you're trying to do some good, trying to help them, and they're reacting like you were offering them a gift certificate for a complementary office visit with Dr. Jack Kevorkian.
You've just experienced the prophet-in-your-own-hometown syndrome. No one is immune from this. To this day, the hardest presentation I've ever given was to my sister Leise. This is the reason most people are afraid to talk to their friends, neighbors, and relatives (their warm market).
There is a solution ...
Edify your sponsorship about your warm market and bring your first people to them. Your warm market is your best market. But when you first begin the business, you shouldn't be making your own presentations. Your sponsor (or, in cases of fast growth, someone further up your sponsorship line) should be making your initial presentations, while you're taking notes and learning the presentation. This is the time to get to all of your can't-be-a-prophet people. Get them to a one-on-one, or give them the Pre-Approach materials. Make sure you let them know that this is a brand new opportunity for you, you've just discovered it and were introduced to the business by someone with a savvy business mind who's really good at helping people reach financial freedom. By edifying your sponsor in advance like this, you're already building up their credibility in the mind of your prospect.
Your friends and family will hear things from strangers that they cannot hear from you. If you want to start fast and get the best results, get these people in front of your sponsorship line and let them do the presenting. To break through with your warm market, you must take your ego out of the equation and edify your sponsor. This allows your sponsor to give you the most support. If your sponsor is already successful, bill them as "an expert in the business." If they're relatively new, moving up, but not mega-successful yet, refer to them as a "rising star." What you're doing in this scenario is leveraging the credibility you have with your warm market for maximum effect.
Here's why.
If your sponsor were to cold call one of your friends, neighbors or relatives and try to tell them about an opportunity - they'd probably hang up. If you try to tell your friends about the opportunity, you get the hometown prophet treatment. But, here's the secret ...
Your warm market trusts you enough to review some initial materials, like a Pre-Approach Packet, or meet for coffee. If it looks interesting, they'll be intrigued enough to meet someone with you (or come to your home for a meeting). And, because you said you're new to the business, don't understand it all yet, and you've found this person to be an expert - they will hear things from them that they couldn't hear from you. This is the secret to getting started fast - and it really works!
Over the course of time, while you are learning the presentation from your sponsor (usually a five- to eight-week process), you'll be bringing in all your "chicken list" people. (Your chicken list consists of the people who are the busiest, successful and ambitious people you know - the ones you're "chicken" to make a presentation to.) Just get them in front of your sponsor. And during this time, your own presentation skills will be getting better and you'll be gaining confidence and getting new distributors into your group. By the end of your first week, you'll be able to do a one-on-one presentation by yourself. By the time your five to eight weeks are up, you'll be quite capable of holding home meetings yourself.
Here's the best part:
When you have people that you're still nervous with, or who still give you the hometown prophet treatment, just edify your sponsorship line about them and bring those people to a second-look meeting, where your sponsorship line is presenting! This is the way huge organizations are built! It's completely warm market, non-threatening and very easily duplicated. Anyone can build a group this way.

Closing the Sale as a Network Marketer
How to get a commitment out of prospective customers.

Question: I just started working with a network marketing company with some great products. I'm using the products myself and focusing on selling products before I start trying to recruit people. My problem is that people I talk to seem interested, but I have trouble getting them to commit to buy. The typical response is "Let me think about this. Call me back later." What could I be doing wrong?
Answer: First, let me commend you on your commitment to be your own best customer and to learn how to sell your products before jumping into the recruiting process. If you don't believe in your products and understand how to motivate others to become customers, you can't transfer that ability to those you recruit into your organization in the future. Let's look at some areas that can help you be a more effective salesperson.
After you've presented the products, you want your customer to take action. Everything you've done so far has been working toward this moment: the close of the sale. Studies indicate that 63 percent of all lost sales occur because the salesperson failed to ask the client to make a purchase.
Your first task is to develop an effective close. Think about various ways of saying "Will you buy my products?" Write them out and memorize them. Practice delivering them, and learn to adapt them to various situations.
Ordinarily, the close will occur at the conclusion of your presentation, but it can happen at any time. In the middle of your presentation, you may sense your prospect is quite interested in a particular product. At that time, it is completely appropriate to say "I agree with you. This item is one of the best we have. Let's make a note on the order pad right now so we don't forget it during the remainder of the presentation."
The key to closing the sale is taking advantage of the right time. Don't delay. Many salespeople don't believe they've closed a sale that quickly, so they keep talking--and actually talk themselves right out of the sale. If the prospect makes comments like "Maybe I should," "Perhaps I could," or "It sure looks good," stop talking and start writing, or risk losing the sale.
Here are a few ways you can gently prompt your customer toward action:
Get your customer to agree with you. Your sales presentation should be a series of powerful, motivating reasons to buy. That's the purpose of building your presentation around features and benefits. Your objective is to obtain complete agreement from the prospect. You actually want him to get in the habit of nodding his head, of voicing his agreement.
When the sales points are presented in terms of benefits, they become personal to your customer. When that customer agrees to a few points in a row, you can usually assume he's ready to make a purchase.
Take the order. You should already have your order pad and pen in hand, so you're ready to write up the product order as soon as the customer agrees. Once your presentation is complete, go back over the products you've presented and confirm the items in which the customer had previously expressed an interest. After you've finished, request that your customer sign the order, and ask if they'll be paying by check or cash.
It's to your advantage to have some inventory of your products with you, so you can deliver them immediately. If not, arrange for your company to drop-ship the order or set up a time when you can return with the order.
Once you've written the order and accepted payment, you can congratulate yourself on completing a successful sales call. But you're not quite through yet.
Obtain referrals. Every time you call on new customers, you should end with a request for the names of people they know who might also benefit from your products. When you've successfully completed a sale, your customer will usually be willing to pass along the names of neighbors or friends. It's much easier than you might think. All you have to do is ask. You'll find the referrals you obtain will develop into a never-ending source of new prospective customers.
Once you've been given some names, use them immediately. Don't ever let a referral get cold! If a referral is in the neighborhood, go right over, ring the bell, introduce yourself, and say his or her friend thought he or she might be interested in some products you offer. This opening does one very important thing for you: It establishes your credibility. You are not just a door-to-door salesperson. You are a friend of a friend, and usually that's enough of a recommendation to get you in the door and enable you to make a product presentation or leave some samples and brochures.
Recruit. After mastering the selling process, it's time to begin selling your other product, your business opportunity itself. If you've concentrated on selling your product and turning the prospect into a customer, it will be easy to suggest he or she consider joining your business. In fact, the opportunity to buy at wholesale for personal use as well as earn some extra income usually appeals to many prospects. And, most important, remember that a potential customer who tells you "no" brings you one step closer to that lifetime customer who says "yes."

A Commitment to Success

All successful business people have a system! Success in our business requires that the system be simple, duplicable, pragmatic and consistent. The Ambit Energy Team provides the most successful method of business presentation to a prospect. This system is to put large numbers of people in front of the Ambit Energy Business Presentation, on a consistent basis!
- Prepare a written list of prospects. Do not limit or edit your list or you will limit your success. Our task is to offer the opportunity to everyone, and help them make their own decision!
- Write one prospect's name, telephone number, and other pertinent information at the top of an index card (i.e.: name, number, address, occupation, reasons they need opportunity, and etc.)
- File all index cards in alphabetical section, (stored for prioritizing).
- Using the prioritization system of your choice, place two cards, from alpha section in each of the calendar day sections. (Use more than two if you want to contact more than the minimum.) You must sample these prospects, at least 3 days in advance of contact date.
- Each day, contact the two prospects in today's section. Try to set an appointment to take the prospect to an Ambit Energy Business Presentation.
- If the prospect says yes, make note of the conversation and place it in the appropriate date slot so you can reconfirm the appointment on that day.
- If the prospect says no (not now), ask if you can check back next week, or in a few weeks (Or Months). Make a note of your conversation, on the card, and file it in the appropriate daily or monthly slot.
- Each day, send an email message to your 2 or 3 teammates (utilizing a distribution list), reporting on the results of your contacts and the names of who you are to contact tomorrow.
- Weekly, have a conference call with your teammates, (utilizing three way calling), and discuss the week's results (i.e.: appointments made, new distributors, objections and etc.)
It is very important that you keep your system up to date and that you make your contacts. If you have a schedule conflict, be sure to make up those contacts you miss so that no one misses out on the Ambit Energy Opportunity and you don't miss being there when you’re Success Ship Sets Sail!

Tips on Making Your Own Decisions
The majority of people who fail to achieve their goals are, generally speaking, easily influenced by the opinions of others. They permit the newspapers and the gossiping neighbors to do their thinking for them. Opinions are the cheapest commodities on earth. Everyone has a flock of opinions ready to be wished upon anyone who will accept them. If you are influenced by opinions when you reach decisions, you will not succeed in any undertaking. You have a brain and mind of your own. Use it, and reach your own decisions. If you need facts or information from other people to enable you to reach decisions, acquire these facts or secure the information you need quietly, without disclosing your purpose.
Those who reach decisions promptly and definitely know what they want, and generally get it. The leaders in every walk of life decide quickly, and firmly. The world has the habit of making room for the people whose words and actions show that they know where they are going.
The power of PERSISTENCE
The basis of persistence is the power of will. Success does not respond to wishes. It responds only to definite plans, backed by definite desires, through constant persistence.
There are four simple steps which lead to the habit of persistence. They are:
- A definite purpose backed by burning desire for its fulfillment.
- A definite plan, expressed in continuous action.
- A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends and acquaintances.

The Major Attributes of Leadership

The Major Causes of Failure
1. Lack of a well-defined purpose in life. There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central purpose, or definite goal at which to aim.
2. Lack of ambition to aim above mediocrity. We offer no hope for the person who is so indifferent as not to want to get ahead in life, and who is not willing to pay the price.
3. Insufficient knowledge or education. This is a handicap which may be overcome with comparative ease. Experience has proven that the best-educated people are often those who are known as self-made, or self-educated. It takes more than a college degree to make one a person of education. Any person who is educated is one who has learned to get whatever he wants in life without violating the rights of others. Education consists, not so much of knowledge, but of knowledge effectively and persistently applied. Men are paid, not merely for what they know, but more particularly for what they do with that which they know.
4. Lack of self-discipline. Discipline comes through self-control. This means that one must control all negative qualities. Before you can control conditions, you must first control yourself. Self-mastery is the hardest job you will ever tackle.
5. Procrastination. Most of us go through life as failures, because we are wishing for the time to be right to start doing something worthwhile. Do not wait. The time will never be just right. Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.
6. Lack of persistence. Most of us are good starters but poor finishers of everything we begin. Moreover, people are prone to give up at the first signs of defeat. There is no substitute for persistence.
7. Negative personality. There is no hope of success for the person who repels people through a negative personality. Success comes through the application of power, and power is attained through the cooperative efforts of other people. A negative personality will not induce cooperation.
8. Lack of a well-defined power of decision. Those who succeed reach decision promptly, and change them, if at all, very slowly. Those who fail reach decisions, if at all, very slowly, and change them frequently, and quickly.
9. One or more of the six basic fears.
a. The fear of poverty
b. The fear of criticism
c. The fear of ill health
d. The fear of loss of love
e. The fear of old age
f. The fear of death
10. Over-caution. The person who takes no chances generally has to take whatever is left when others are through choosing.
11. Wrong selection of associates in business. This is one of the most common causes of failure in business. We emulate those with whom we associate most closely.
12. Lack of concentration of effort. The jack-of-all-trades seldom is good at any.
13. Lack of enthusiasm. Without enthusiasm one cannot be convincing. Moreover, enthusiasm is contagious, and the person, who has it, under control, is generally welcome in any group of people.

A Lesson in Duplication

This business grows much faster and much bigger when you are not doing it alone. The whole point is to get other people to do what you did, which is to make a sale or hopefully several. So, this week what I want everyone to focus on is getting everyone you have sold to get at least two people to your weekly meeting. I would focus all of your time and energy over the next week on getting everyone you sold to start their teams. We have several people who have signed up 10-20 people, but their teams are not growing. The reason is that the only person making sales is YOU. This concept goes against the benefits of Network Marketing. See if you sell 10 and all of them sell at least 5 people, that is 50, and if 3 of them sell at least 10 that is at least 30 more, which means your team is now at least 75 people. However, if you sell 25 people yourself and nobody on your team makes any personal sales you will have more personals than most people but your team will only have 25 people in it, which is 1/3 the size of what it could be if people are duplicating what you did.
How can you make your team duplicate?
1. Stay focused on them! Once you make a sale that is only part of your objective. That is actually your first step not your goal, and most people think that getting someone to sign up is the goal. The goal is to get everyone you sell to start their own team, which will earn them their first paycheck and get them even more excited. Once they get those first couple of sales, they will get more just watch and see.
You can't just sell people and forget about them, or eventually they will quit or stop coming to meetings.
2. Help your people get their people. Your people NEED YOU, they can't do it alone. Help them call their friends, help them get their friends to meetings, help them get their friends and family on conference calls, go to dinner with their friends and family, visit them at work and talk to their co-workers with them. All you have to do is get them excited enough to come to a meeting, and we will do the rest.
3. You need the meetings!!! And the meetings need you!!!
I know people have commitments and I completely understand the importance of time and family. The one thing that is important if you are serious about this business is making a commitment to your team and to yourself. Most of the people reading this are the leaders of your organization. If you do not go to the meeting it makes it look to your people like they do not need to go to meetings. So what happens is one week the leader doesn't go, and other team members do. So they see the leader didn't need to go, so now they don't need to go next time. This creates a negative snowball effect of people not going to meetings.
I have never missed a meeting that was in a city when I was in that town. People ask me how I know so much about the business and how I learned to do presentations. The reason is because I never miss a meeting.
When you are doing well the meetings NEED you in order to be successful. Testimonies are the most important part of the meeting, so leaders who are doing well ARE NEEDED GREATLY IN ORDER TO HELP THE MEETING be more effective. They can share testimonies, answer questions afterwards, and help greet new people and make them feel more comfortable.
When you are not doing well or your team is not growing YOU NEED THE MEETINGS more than anyone. You never know why things are clicking or when they will start to click for you. So, if you never miss a meeting you will keep learning, and you will stay excited about this amazing opportunity. So you need the meetings, and you can't afford to miss them.
MISSION: If you have to pick their people up for them, make sure everyone you have sponsored gets two people to the meetings this week. Remember, it is all about duplication if you want your team to grow faster.

Follow Up Call “ Overcoming Objections & Starting Their Business

Asking positive questions brings positive results!
You must listen to your prospect if you are going to solve their needs!
People like to belong and they need to be wanted! If you are sincere in your desire to help them, they will be more likely to join!
Remember to center on: We! Us! You! Together! What you want is a TEAM member and a Partner.
You are not selling; you are guiding people as they strive to improve their own lives, through their own desires and achievements! Give them the Opportunity!
Ask the prospect to tell you what they liked best in the Online Tour/Business Presentation!
- Listen for their answer, as they will open the window of opportunity!
- Agree with what the prospect says and restate it in a positive statement about your business!
Ask the prospect what else they saw that they liked!
- Listen to what they say, as it will let you know what they want!
- Give the prospect time to formulate their ideas and express their Positive Thoughts!
- Again, agree with prospect and restate how your business will meet their stated desires!
Restate, briefly, their statements and tell them that you really look forward to helping them work toward their goals. Ask, If we can make this work for you, are you ready to get started?
- If they offer another objection, listen and then ask, If you and I can find the answer to ___________, are you ready to give this a try, together?
As this point it is time to sign them up, but without pressure! Assume a positive answer and tell them you are really looking forward to building this business together, and with very little risk! Help them launch their business on your website!
Example: What did you see that you like the best?
- I liked Making Money!
- I like Saving Money on Services!
- I like sharing my good fortune with my Friends and Family!
That's exactly what got my attention when I first saw the presentation. This is the greatest financial opportunity! What else did you see that you liked?
- I liked not selling any stuff, just helping other people!
You know, that is the best part! Everybody already uses our products and service, and it's great that you and I get to build our success by helping other people improve their lives and achieve personal success!
Working together, you and I can help a lot of people and we don't have to sell them things that they don't want! It will be great to have fun making money together! If we can make this work for you, are you ready to get started?

| Techniques fo Invitation to the Business Presentation
1. Bill, I've got something I want you to check out. You've never seen anything like it before. You may or may not be interested; it's up to you. But, don't say no until you know.
2. Hey what are you doing Tuesday Night? I need your opinion on something. Can we get together? I'd like to run it by you.

Ask them direct questions about wanting to make money or doing something on the side. If it where lucrative enough and could work into their schedule. Ask questions and listen often. Your objective is to simply set an appointment to meet or have them attend an overview.

~ What would you say if I told you it costs $250 but you could make it all back in as little as one week?
- I don't have the time.
~ Do you like not having any free time? Give me 20 or 30 minutes and I'll show you how you can finally get more time.
~ That's exactly why we need to get together for 20-30 minutes. This could help you get more time for yourself.
~ If you don't spend a little time checking out other options, when do you see your schedule becoming less hectic?
- Is this selling? I don't like selling.
~ No. It's not selling. I don't like selling either.
~ This is sharing, offering, helping and teaching.
- I don't know many people.

If they are, tell them that you prefer to refer to it as a leveraged income matrix, because unlike other pyramid shaped organizations (government, church, military, and their job!) the guy just getting in can exceed everyone above him.
- I am 100% focused on my business and I don't want to get off track.
~ I understand and appreciate your dedication. I don't want you to commit to anything. I just want your feedback. I respect your opinion.
- How much are you making?
~ I'm just getting started, but I think it has great potential. Would you look at it and tell me what you think?
~ You wouldn't believe it if I told you, besides, you might NEVER make what I do! You may make ten times more, or you may make nothing. I will tell you though that you will get paid what you're worth, unlike your job.

Remember, you're not selling; you're looking for open-minded people who want to make a change in their lives.

By far, the most effective invitation to take a look at our business is:
All I am asking you to do is to take a look at what I am doing. It won't offend me if you elect not to become a Business partner, because I realize it is not for everyone, but it will offend me if you don't take a look.
Asking positive questions brings positive results!
You must listen to your prospect if you are going to solve their needs!
People like to belong and they need to be wanted! If you are sincere in your desire to help them, they will be more likely to join!
Remember to center on: WE! Us! You! Together! What you want is a TEAM member and a partner.
You are not selling; you are guiding people as they strive to improve their own lives, through their own desires and achievements!
Create value for the person

Remember, you're not selling; you're looking for open-minded people who want to make a change in their lives.
You want to neutralize the objection, rather than handling the objection.
In neutralizing objections, learn an automatic response.
Saturate the objection with your own positive response.
It is a known fact that people will do more out of a fear of loss than they will out of a desire of a gain.
The majority of objections are psychological smoke screens. Often times a smoke screen is thrown up so that one Desna€™t have to be bothered at the moment because they think they are not interested in what it is that you have to offer or because they have been approached unprofessionally or arrogantly before or they have preconceived ideas of what it is you are trying to share with them or something else has gone wrong.
Three step process: Validate, neutralize and move forward.
Always validate their objection.

Whether this is for you or not I don't know, but do me a favor and at least check it out so you will have a better understanding about something that just might change your financial situation.
What would it mean to you and your family if this were a business that you and I, working together, were able to create a monthly recurring income stream (MRI), that would pay all of your monthly bills, every month, (mortgage pmt, car pmt, food, clothing and entertainment) without you having to trade time for money working for someone else, building their dreams.
There are basically 8 main objections:
1. Don’t have the time
That is the exact reason you need to take a look at this. If you don't have enough time, now, then is it possible that what you are doing to make a living is controlling your time rather than you controlling your own time? I can help you create more free time by using the leverage principle that is available with this business.
Would you like to be able to spend more time with your family or doing the things you would rather be doing, rather than working your life away, trading time for money and building someone else's dream.
What would it mean to you and your family if you had the opportunity to create any amount of quality time to spend with them that you would like to (yet you are not willing to spend the time to take a look at it, how do you feel about that?
What I am taking about has the ability to enable you to spend more quality time with your family than you currently have now? Offering you the ability to create a future for your family that currently doesn't exist and gives you options for your life that currently don't exist.
2. I wouldn't be interested in something like that.
- I really appreciate you sharing that with me, because let me be honest, if I didn't have the information that I know; I probably wouldn't be interested either.
- I know how you feel, I felt the same way myself, what I decided to do was at least give it the benefit of the doubt because I did not want to walk away from something that could potentially be worth a fortune to me. And it was. What if this could potentially be worth a fortune to you and because you wouldn’t even give it an honest look, you missed an opportunity of a lifetime. What could that cost you and your family? It is important to me for you to just take a look to get the information that I have.
3. I don't have the money
That is the exact reason you need to take a look at this.
What would it be worth to you and your family if you never had to say those words again? I don't have the money.
I appreciate you sharing this with me but let me ask you a question, how long have you been in the work force? What you are telling me is you don't have the money for a few hundred-dollar investments that could change your life. May I make an observation here? What you are doing to build financial security is not working.
Let me ask you a personal question. How do you feel about that? Would you like to be in a position to never have to say you don't have $400.00?
That is the exact reason you need to take a look at this, because I can help you get in a situation that you never have to say those words again.
Can I ask you a personal question? How long are you going to allow that to continue in your life? What would it mean to you if you never had to say those words again? That is the exact reason you need to take a look at this company. Because whether it is for you or not, it will at least give you a life option that you don't currently have. Who knows, even if it isn't for you will at least have a better understanding of what I am doing. And let me tell you this company has changed my life.
If you don't have the money today isn't it time to do something about that? I can help you change that by helping you create a cash flow that you don't currently have that can put you in a financial position that you are not currently in. Whether this is for you or not this will at least give you a life option that you don't currently have.
Wouldn’t it be wise to take a look at an opportunity that could change that?
It won’t cost you anything to take a look, but it might cost you a lot not to.
All legitimate businesses do cost money. It doesn’t cost anything to check it out and the start up is basically a deposit that is easily earned, with a minimum of effort.
There is a lot of money on the table.
4. Don’t know anyone that has had any success with one of those (these things just don't work etc.)
Find out what their occupation is, and then ask them. Let me ask you a question. Is there a right way and a wrong way to (sell Real estate, show a house, write up a contract, fix a cavity in a tooth, etc) there is a right way to do network marketing and a wrong way. Whether this is right for you or not I am here to help you do it the right way and be successful like the thousands of other successful people in this industry.
5. I'm not into sales or cant sell anything
Great, were not looking for sales people. Let me ask you a question, do you like to help people and share new ideas with people? That is all we do. We help and share. That is the exact reason you need to take a look at what we do because it will radically change your model on what you can do in your life. What if I showed you how to share and how to communicate in a style that helped you earn money? Would that hurt your feelings?
No. It's not selling. I don't like selling either. This is sharing, offering, helping and teaching.
6. Is this one of those pyramid things?

Getting the Courage to Prospect

Every so often an idea revolution occurs that turns the worldview upside down. The earth is round. Germs cause disease instead of evil spirits. We have an unconscious mind.
Each advancement had Nay Sayers. And each advancement had people who took tremendous advantage of this knowledge.
Now, there is a revolution starting in network marketing. And it turns conventional thinking upside down. It has to do with the way you can change to grow your business.
Conventional thinking says: Change your beliefs, your behavior will change and so will your life. If you're lucky your emotions will change as well. There is so much evidence to prove the legitimacy of this approach that it almost has the reverence of the Ten Commandments.
This commandment also says it takes work. It takes a lot of hard work to change your beliefs. Change will eventually happen if you persist. So keep working at changing your beliefs, even though they feel etched in granite.
You are told about the ruinous effects of negative beliefs. Use affirmations and big dreams to help overcome them. They work, but with an 80% attrition rate in the business, maybe the formula needs adjusting.
The revolutionary adjustment is here. And you can apply it to the biggest problem of network marketing€¦
Prospecting.
Although to be accurate, it's not prospecting that is the problem. The problem is the two biggest fears that are the inevitable companions of prospecting... The fear of rejection and the fear of failing.
Too many network marketers have not been able to sufficiently change their beliefs to overcome these twin assassins of prosperity. The emotional response to prospecting is more deeply embedded than you may be aware of. It has to do with how your brain works. Your brain has stored every painful rejection and failure to help you avoid it in the future. This is a necessary survival process and your brain does it automatically and efficiently.
Think about it, if you got mugged at a convenience store, it takes no effort to feel unease the next time you go there (if you go at all).
If you get mugged again at another convenience store it will be a while before you return to any convenience store. You will only go out of necessity. It's simply the way your brain works to protect you.
How does this apply to Network Marketers?
Every time you approach a prospect and the prospect refuses your opportunity, you are not just being rejected by them. They are re-stimulating the part of your brain (the limbic system) that has stored all painful memories of rejection and feelings of prior failures. It is the same as a having a phobia. You don't want to go near anything that looks like the phobic stimulus.
Telling people that they are sabotaging themselves when they don't prospect is a little bit insulting to a million years of brain evolution designed to keep us from repeating painful or fearful patterns.
Your fear of prospecting is simultaneously
- a problem (you resist wanting to do it so you don't grow your business); and,
- a solution (keeps you from feeling severe emotional pain).
For many network marketers, this emotional pain (phobia) is stronger than the lure of financial freedom and leading the good life. The 80% attrition rate or minimum success now makes a little more sense.
A Little Magic for Prospecting Relief
Now there is a way to overcome the anxiety of acting that is faster than trying to force a new change of beliefs. To deal with the protective fears, you need a new approach. The way you change is going to be easier and faster than you have been taught.
The following exercise will help you make a rapid shift so you can take action with reduced distress. This exercise is based on brain research, plus my professional and personal experience with clients around the world.
Here's what you need to make this work like magic:
1. Knowledge about what to say when you approach a Prospect.
2. Knowledge about how to follow up after the initial contact with the prospect.
3. Confidence that your product, service, or opportunity offers a genuine benefit to the prospect.
If you have these three in place then you're set to take the following steps for a little more brain magic.
Read the directions all the way through before doing them. Remember this is only an experiment to see what happens when you feel and think differently about taking action. Reverting to the old tension is always a choice.
1. Think of a prospecting action step you have been of taking action on a 1-10 scale with 10 being high.
2. When you think of taking this step, pay attention to the stress feeling in your body. It may be in the chest, neck, jaw, breathing, etc.
3. Then look up: it can be at the ceiling or sky if you are outside. The key is to look upward.
4. Pay attention to the location of the stress feeling in your body and with two fingers tap the acupressure point on your cheekbone directly under your eye (either one) while you take a few (4 or 5) relaxing deep slow breaths.
5. Don't force anything to happen. Just let any new insights, feelings, or better ways of looking at the problem occur spontaneously.
6. Think of the original situation and rate the difficulty of taking action.
If you are like most people, you will experience a drop in your rating. If you went down a few points and want to reduce the rating even more, return to the difficult situation and think of a specific part of the action step that remains troubling. Then repeat steps 2 -5.
Keep repeating these steps until you experience noticeable or sufficient relief.
Why does this work?
It involves more regions of your brain than the part that creates beliefs. I've discussed this technique (and others that are even more powerful) with physicians, medical researchers, and other related professionals to get a better understanding of why and how this works the way it does.
The conclusions of these scientists are theoretical. Interestingly, they independently reach similar reasons about why these techniques work. However, that's not really important just try these steps and see the results yourself.

- Don't try to explain over the phone, your goal is to just set an appointment.
- Don't say, I've gotten involved in something . This phrase sets a tone that you are trying to sell them on something and is negatively associated with network marketing or MLM.
- Don't be afraid to say, I don't know, but I know someone who would. Then call your sponsor or upline, or tell them someone at the meeting can answer their questions better.
- Don't spend more than 5 - 7 minutes on the phone during an invitation.

I thought of you because (fill in the reason: hard worker, business minded person, etc) . It may not be for you. However I wanted you to know a little bit about it. ______, can you take it from here? Tell them why we will be a multi-billion dollar company, and that this is a ground floor opportunity!
Ask them direct questions about wanting to make money or doing something on the side. If it where lucrative enough and could work into their schedule. Ask questions and listen often. Your objective is to simply set an appointment to meet or have them attend an overview.
Some Invitations to the Business Presentation Techniques
- Bill, I've got something I want you to check out. You've never seen anything like it before. You may or may not be interested; it's up to you. But, don't say no until you know.
- Hey what are you doing Tuesday night? I need your opinion on something. Can we get together? I'd like to run it by you.
- Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that you look like the kind of person that does great in my business. If you are a money-motivated person, then give me your number or call this number to get the details.
- Hey Moe, the reason I'm calling is business. I've just taken a position with a cutting edge company in the Energy Industry. I'm putting together a team of sharp motivated people and I immediately thought of you. Moe, if the opportunity was right, and it would fit into your existing schedule, would you be open to evaluating a strong business right now?
- Hey Larry, the reason I'm calling is business. I'm putting together a team of sharp motivated people and I respect what you've accomplished in business and your opinion means a lot to me. When could I get about half an hour of your time for your opinion on how I may build this team more effectively?
- Are you open to making more money? Are you willing to work 5-10 hours per week to build a serious income? When can we get together for 30 minutes so I can show you how?
- Hey Joe, I've just started a new business with Ambit Energy and I would like for you to come take a look at it. Responses to Common Objections from the Business Invitation
- I don't have the money, or what will this cost?
~ Do you like not having money? It won't cost you anything to take a look, but it might cost you a lot not to.
~ Hey this is a money MAKING opportunity not a money SPENDING opportunity. Take a look, and you tell me if you think you can make any money at it.
~ What would you say if I told you it costs $250 but you could make it all back in as little as one week?
- I don't have the time.
~ Do you like not having any free time? Give me 20 or 30 minutes and I'll show you how you can finally get more time.
~ That's exactly why we need to get together for 20-30 minutes. This could help you get more time for yourself.
~ If you don't spend a little time checking out other options, when do you see your schedule becoming less hectic?
- Is this selling? I don't like selling.
~ No. It's not selling. I don't like selling either.
~ This is sharing, offering, helping and teaching.
- I don't know many people.
~ This will give you an opportunity to meet some new people and make some new friends, and everyone uses.
~ You'd be surprised how easy it is to meet people when you have something everyone needs and wants.

- Is this a pyramid?
~ No. Pyramids are illegal. I wouldn't get involved in anything illegal and I wouldn't ask you to either.
~ Ask them what they mean by a pyramid. They're probably referring to the pyramid shape of the organization. If they are, tell them that you prefer to refer to it as a leveraged income matrix, because unlike other pyramid shaped organizations (government, church, military, and their job!) the guy just getting in can exceed everyone above him.
- I am 100% focused on my business and I don't want to get off track.
~ I understand and appreciate your dedication. I don't want you to commit to anything. I just want your feedback. I respect your opinion.
- How much are you making?
~ I'm just getting started, but I think it has great potential. Would you look at it and tell me what you think?
~ You wouldn't believe it if I told you, besides, you might NEVER make what I do! You may make ten times more, or you may make nothing. I will tell you though that you will get paid what you're worth, unlike your job.

60 – 90 Days. Success does not happen overnight, but it can happen very quickly. Use it yourself so you become proficient. Give the system enough time to work and it may change your life. Working the system:
Step One: The Audio Sizzle Message
1. The purpose of this system is to facilitate exposing a large number of people to the Ambit Opportunity with minimum personal explanation and presentation. This is the very basis of the system! Trust in the system and do not add or subtract from it as you may limit your success. Please resist the temptation to add your own conversations, presentations, and explanations. Do not derail the system by allowing the prospect to control the conversation, and thus the system, by asking the questions and getting you to answer them. (The person asking the questions controls the conversation). Let the system work!
Start conversations with an excitement statement about what you have found.
"I Found Something Great That May Change Our Financial Life Forever!"
Then ask these Four Questions:
1. What do you know about Energy Deregulation?
2. How many people do you know that use Electricity or Natural Gas?
3. Would they like to pay less or even potentially get their Energy for Free?
4. If I can guide you through a brief system, would you give me a few minutes to learn about a company that will pay you significant income to help others save on their home utilities?
It only takes a few minutes and starts with listening to a 3 Minute Recorded Message. There is no obligation.
Hand them a flyer/sizzle card/bookmark with only the words:

You may add graphics and use different colors to enhance, but DO NOT ADD MORE WORDS!
Ask the prospect to please call the number on the card and listen to the overview. If they want more information, just leave their name and number at the end of the 3 minute recording. They may ask for more information right now, but it is critical that you avoid that by saying, “Please just listen to the message. We have a system that works hard so we don’t have to. You will enjoy it!”
Remember, the goal of this message is to be a filter. As a filter, it is not designed to “Hook” the wrong people but rather to eliminate the large number of people that just aren’t interested. That way you only talk again to those that are interested. It is widely known that many fail in this business by spending too much time talking to the wrong people. Success comes from getting the message to a large number of prospects. Let the system work for you!
2. Check your PowerLine at least daily. As people leave messages you will receive an email that you have PowerLine Messages. Go to your PowerLine back office (Click the link in the message) or call and check the messages by phone. The more Sizzle Cards you give out, the more messages you will receive. And these are prospects that WANT TO TALK TO YOU!
At each step of this process be alert to prospects that are extremely excited and are ready to get started. As we feel there is no comparison to a Large, Exciting Group Business Presentation, you should always invite a prospect to the Group Presentation. If they are ready, go directly to that step. If not, go to the next step in the process. (And at anytime someone is ready to get started, quit talking and Register them as an Ambit Consultant!!!)
Step Two: The Video Message
Assuming the person left a message, you should call them right away. The more you delay, the more time you leave for them to stray from the path. Never let a call back go more than 24 hours from when they left the message. If you are getting more response than you can handle, teach the system to your down line and spread the leads.
The Call Back:
1. Thank the person for completing step one by listening to the 3 minute audio message. Let them know that it is your job to supply them with additional information. However first you need to ask a few questions to see if they could possibly be a match for us. These are very simple questions and must stay just this brief. Write the answers down to start learning about your prospect and developing a relationship.
Ask:
First, let me verify your contact information. Please confirm your name, phone number and email address.
We are expanding in many areas. Where do you live?
What kind of work do you do now, or did in the past that might make you a candidate for our Team?
Can you devote 5 to 7 hours a week to a business of your own so that you develop a significant income?
Then let them know you appreciate them working through the system and that it shows their ability to work with our Success System.
Ask:
Do you have something to write with as I am going to give you a website to visit to complete step two of the process?

If it makes sense to you, we will then arrange for you to get all of your questions answered so that you can make a decision to join our Team. You must resist the urge to tell them more or answer more questions. Don’t be rude, just let them know that our system is quite complete and we appreciate their patience so that the system can work for them.
Now comes the fun part! When they log into Gold Rush, you will get an email letting you know that they are watching the video. This is your alert that you have the hottest of prospects. A prospect that is informed and got the information from a reliable system is a pleasure to work with.
Now it’s is time to call again.
Say:
Thank you for completing step two. You have shown that you may very well be just the kind of person that we love to work with. I would like to invite you to a Live Corporate Overview so you can see all of this for yourself, as well as meeting many of the Top Leaders on our Team. Is Tuesday good for you or would Thursday Be Better? (Always give two options rather than ask a yes or no question.)
If they agree to come to the presentation, let them know how much you look forward to seeing them and introducing them to all of the fun people on the Team. Let them know you will either pick them up or re-confirm a couple of hours before the Overview. Then you should contact your upline or sideline and ask them to call the prospect to re-confirm and make them feel welcome.
The Upline would call and say:
“Hi ________. My business partner tells me you may be a great match with our Team and we are looking forward to meeting you on (Confirm the details of the Overview Time and Location). Thanks and we look forward to meeting you in person.”
This not only makes them feel more welcome, but helps insure that they will be at the presentation.
If they hesitate on the Overview Presentation, it is time for a 3 Way Call. Let them know that you are about to put them on the phone with a very successful person that can answer all of their questions. Ask them to hold and do the 3 Way with you upline or cross line. Frequently this results in a new Consultant, but the goal is to just move them to the next step which is the live presentation. If there is not a presentation, use the 3 Way Call and or the Monday Night Business Presentation Call.
At this point you move to Step Three and host them at a Live Business Presentation. Follow the system for Live Business Presentations and ask the closing questions at the end. Please go to www.MomentumMatrix.com and review that training as well.
Your success will come from introducing large numbers of people to this system and following the system as closely as possible. The moment you meet the prospect or they pick up a flyer, you are also training them to use the same system.
That is Duplication. That leads to Multiplication. That leads to Huge Successful Momentum!
This system is easily adaptable to advertising and flyer distribution. A brief discussion of that follows.
Flyers:
Think in hundreds and thousands. They should be bright and colorful. They must not be wordy or try to give too much information. The only goal of the Flyers/Book Marks/Sizzle Cards is to get people to listen to the message. If you give them more information, they may not.
The most critical words are: “3 Minute Recorded Message”. That lets the prospect know that no one is going to answer the phone and try to sell them. And that it only takes 3 minutes.
Do not put them on windshields etc where it will just give Ambit a bad name for being trashy. They are best when handed to people or placed on a counter with a sign that says “Please Take One”. Ask for permission to place them at stores, dry cleaners, restaurants, convenience stores, service stations and etc. You will find that they are glad for you to put some on their counter. Don’t do it without permission or they will cause more trouble that good.
One great method is to put a large one on bulletin boards with tear offs that just say “3 Minute Message – (XXX) XXX-XXXX” That way the flyer stays up for all to read and the individual takes the tear off.
Ads:
Ads can eat up your money in a hurry, so be careful. If you do advertise, the ads should be small and not contain any more information than the Flyers. If you use radio, you should repeat the phone number 3 times. Very short radio commercials or very brief ads in the right places may get you a lot of calls. Have fun with it.
But remember, this is Relationship Marketing. Nothing compares with calling people you know or meeting people in person and establishing a relationship. Allow it to grow and you will have much more success.
This system also works very well for a new consultant as they approach their friends.
First, they must complete the Success Passport (Available on www.MomentumMatrix.com ). DO NOT SHORTCUT YOUR SUCCESS BY NOT MAKING A LIST OF EVERYONE YOU KNOW. After you help a new person create and prioritize their list, you just use this system as a way to introduce those prospects to Ambit. It is much better than just sending a new consultant out to TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THEY ARE NEW AT!
Encourage them to give out the number to their prospects or give your new consultants a stack of cards. Encourage them to get their prospects to listen to the message and then follow the system all the way through.
Not knowing what to say or how to approach their friends holds a lot of people up. This system can solve that. If they use your number, they must tell their prospects to be sure and leave on the message that they are friend of the new consultant. Of course that means you get the messages and that enables you to make the calls with the new consultant.
Let the law of large numbers work for you. Follow the system and let the system do most of the work.
We suggest a 90 day concentrated blitz with this system. It takes a little preparation and a little practice to get the call back system down. Practice it with someone first. It is a simple system, so become an expert. It will earn you a fortune.
If you find that the system is not working as well as you would like, review what you have been doing. Frequently the system is suffering because you are JUST SAYING TOO MUCH! It is time to go back to letting the system do the talking and keep your explanations/presentations out of the way.

Establish why you are doing this business. Keep the focus on your why and don't let the bumps in the road stop you dead. Establish why each of your partners is doing the business, down to the color of the upholstery, color make and model of the car. The bump in the road looms large if you get down on your knees and stare at it. Stand-up and focus on your destination and the bump disappears. The tightrope walker never looks where his feet are he always focuses on his destination, the same for a mogul skier, racecar driver, jockey and anyone else striving to achieve more!

There are as many ways to do this business, as there are people in the business. It is your business, and you can build it your way. If you treat it like a hobby, or a $ 429 Business, it will pay you accordingly. If you treat it like the Million Dollar Business that it is, you can change your life, and many others in the process. Like all great things, it does not come easy, but it is simple. We have a duplicable system that has worked for many who came before you, and will continue to work for thousands of others. Everyone that sticks with the system becomes successful. The only way you can fail, is fail to follow a good business system, like ours, or give up and quit. Everyone has the same opportunity. Your business starts with you!
The first thing to do is join the visit your PowerZone Daily. This will keep you up to date, offer motivation and training tips from some very successful reps. While you are on the Momentum Matrix Website, which was created to help you build your business, download and print the first 3 Training Programs. You should store them on your computer, and print them out. They are a 100% Successful Ingredient to getting off to a Successful Start.
Don't skip any of these steps, or rather than find a short cut; you will cut short your success!
It is important to have the Enrollment steps handy, as it gives you or your prospect, step by step instructions on how to get started. Things change, and while we try to keep them up to date, it is the basic information that is important (And that is true of all of the lessons). Now take some time, with the next step. It is one of the most important things you ever do, and will affect the outcome of your business, in a big way. It is time to start defining, Your Why?
While your why will continue to evolve, and frankly grow much larger as you stretch your vision, it is important to get something strong down, NOW! It may also be a good time to review the article called, "Why Network Marketing". It will help you understand how big this thing you just got a hold of, is. It will help you formulate your Why.
Next is to make a list of your Prospects. This is where more people fail, than any other place. Many think they can just start calling everyone they know, and their business will explode. If that is you, stop this training now, and we will see you again after you bang your head in to the same obstacles others hit, as they haphazardly tried to build a Million Dollar Business! If you stay with us, it is time to follow the instructions, and make a list of at least 50 to 100 people, that you know.
No other qualifications, just that you know them. Limit or edit your list and you will limit and edit your success. If you want it all, list them all. DO NOT PRE-JUDGE WHO WILL AND WHO WON'T! We can guarantee from experience, that the ones you think will, won't and the ones you think won't will. One prospect can lead you to a fortune. What happens if you leave them off of your list? Well, they end up on someone else's list!
Once you have your list made up, with at least 50 to 100 names, find their contact information, and add it to the list. Then it is time to contact your sponsor, and/or upline. This is a Team Business, and even if your sponsor is also new, it goes better as a Team. Call upline until you find someone with a little no how and success, and schedule a planning session, right away. Let them know you have secured your assets (That is your list, the most important asset you will ever have. After all, it is Network Marketing, and they are your Network!). Then, we will move on to Lesson 2. It is best to do it with the guidance (And it can be over the phone or chat room).

Creating a List
One of the most important factors in building your Ambit Energy business is the creation of your warm list. A warm list is a group of individuals from your past and present that you know well enough to pick up the telephone and call them. They would recognize you once they heard your name.
The value of a warm list is that for the first few months, you are able to speak with people you know. More importantly, these are the people with whom you would like to forge a lifetime business relationship.
Social psychologists have noted that by age thirty the average person literally knows 2,000 people, on a first-name basis? Everyone has a warm list, but many don't know how to identify and record the names. Two thousand is a shocking number. However, most of us lack the ability to recall 10% of those. We all need something to help us remember.
So, here is a memory jogger to help trigger your memory. Use this to help you recall some of the names of the people you know. Remember this rule:
Put everyone you know on your warm list. NEVER prejudge anyone. Give everyone the opportunity to say yes or no. It's up to them, not you. Your mission is simply to introduce them to an idea. It may or may not be for them. You are simply the messenger. It's their choice to accept the message or not. It is your job to deliver it!

The recommendation is that you list 50 to 100 contact names on your initial list. If it sounds impossible, use the Memory Jogger to help you out. Remember, this is your inventory. The bigger this list is, the more success you're going to have.
Write down names first. The phone numbers can be added later. Then use the priority system to decide who to sample and contact first! (See list document.)
A business building tool that you must have is the 3-way or conference calling feature on your telephone. This will enable you and your support line to be on the same call with the prospect at the same time. It is on most phones, but the charges will be greatly reduced if you subscribe to the service.
To activate this feature on your home or business telephone, simply call your local phone company and tell them you wish to order the 3 way-calling feature on your telephone, effective immediately. It usually takes only 24 hours for your phone company to activate this feature for you.
Here is how it works: call a person and once connected press the flash button or switch hook button on your phone, wait for three beeps and a new dial tone. Then dial the second person. Press the flash button again and all three parties will be connected. Simple!
This tool will be invaluable to you so make sure you have it set up before you start making calls to your prospects. (If you order this feature with your phone company it is only a couple of Dollars a month. If you don't order it as part of your package, you may get charged $ every time you use it)
Carry a notepad with you to add to your list as you think of and meet new people. Your list will continue to grow. There's no secret, the Consultant who has the largest list will make the most money.

15 Concepts for Success!
1. You must make and keep a schedule. Every business must be OPEN in order to make a profit. It doesn't matter whether you are in Network Marketing or own a McDonalds, if you don't turn on the lights open the doors and let folks know you're doing business, no one will show and you WILL FAIL. Set your business hours, live by them every day. Make it a habit!
2. Sponsor up - but don't neglect anybody. Rank yourself on a scale of 1-10, then go talk to everyone who ranks higher than you, they will grow your business faster and create more success for you. If they say No now, they'll come in later when they see you succeed, and the additional opportunities your company provides!
3. Find people that want it for themselves. A quote: "The day you stop looking for acceptance and start looking for business partners is the day your business will take off." This is a very key element for success. So many of us think of all the people we know who need this business. STOP; ask yourself this question, why do they need it? Could it be because of the way they are? Look for the people who want it for themselves.
4. Don't try to motivate those that cannot be motivated. (A corollary to #3 because we need it.) We can supply the tools, the system, the training the materials but we cannot supply motivation. The person happy to be sitting in the rain does not need an umbrella. The person who doesn't wear shoes does not need a shoeshine kit. Find the people who are motivated to achieve more and provide more for themselves their families and their communities.
5. Keep it simple Try teaching someone the Gettysburg addresses and then have him or her teach someone else who will then teach someone else. How long before it is unrecognizable? Not long! Teach them our simple system and they can replicate that.
6. Make money not excuses. You can do only one or the other. You cannot do both. Make your choice!
7. Establish why you are doing this business. Keep the focus on your why and don't let the bumps in the road stop you dead. Establish why each of your partners is doing the business, down to the color of the upholstery, color make and model of the car. The bump in the road looms large if you get down on your knees and stare at it. Stand-up and focus on your destination and the bump disappears. The tightrope walker never looks where his feet are; he always focuses on his destination. The same is true for a mogul skier, racecar driver, jockey and anyone else striving to achieve more!
8. You must develop leaders or your business will turn upside down. How do you spot / find and develop leaders. Look for those are working! Focus on developing them as leaders and you will achieve every goal more quickly because you will have more people succeeding!
9. Your success depends on the success of your organization. Focus on supporting others on your TEAM. Build Success Units of Business Partners who each enroll new Business Partners. Teach them to do the same and you will create an organization of successful people! Zig Ziglar said: Help enough other people get what they want and you will get what you want.
10. Put great people in immediately. Don't wait for the right time. Excitement and early success builds this business better than anything. Bring them in immediately and create an atmosphere of success that others will follow. They will serve, as role models and everyone will want to be part of your organization.
11. Get under people, not on top of them. Support, educate and help. Build people up. Lift people up show people their best side so that they see it too and share it with others. Be proud of their skills and help them conquer their fears and weaknesses.
12. Be proud of what you are doing. Question, "What do you do? Answer: I'm a Professional Networker; it works really well for me... I am part of a great Team!
Sure there are people who failed at this, but they did not have our system! There are people who failed High School. Should every kid in the USA skip high school? The opportunities are endless and our business is the businesses of helping people take charge of their lives, of regaining control of the out of control. We are network marketers!
13. Don't Mother people. Lead by example. You can't say the wrong thing to the right people or the right thing to the wrong people. Train leaders and let them work. A quote: "Wealth hides itself from those who must do everything themselves and exposes itself to those who have the patients to coach others." People learn by trying. People who aren't trying don't need help.
To be great you have to be good first.
To be good you have to bad first.
To be bad, you have to try.
Work with the people who are trying, who are taking action and help them be more effective in their actions. Demonstrate it every day in your daily activities as you build your business.
14. Build teams, not individuals. Find a system and use it consistently with your whole team. Work in teams, get an accountability partner who you communicate with daily on your goals, what you are going to get done and then at the end of the day, let them know what you have accomplished. Hold them accountable too.
15. Develop an Attitude of Action. Stop waiting for something to happen. Every day you spend doing something that does not ultimately move you in the direction you want to go is a day wasted. Business and life are not spectator sports. Get in the game, you cannot win or advance if you're not in the game.
